Still feeling sad about how desperate people are in this world and how many people suffer at the hands of people who are miserable and unhappy and lost.

Weekend Off
So, I have done very little that is actually useful today. I have been listening to Carrie Underwood's new album, playing solitaire and just chilling. I did get dressed, which I considered NOT doing. I just couldn't go there, but I did feel like taking the weekend off from the show and from worrying about stuff. I have to do some work things, but it isn't too bad. After dinner and work, I watched some "Army Wives". (I haven't talked about that series here, have I? I love it - there is something familiar about that life and it comforts me, even though I was just a kid when my father was in the Air Force...they use the same vocabulary we used...getting orders, TDY, living on base.)

Back Into the Fray
Well, back to work I go tomorrow. I feel pretty rested at this point, but I would love another day off to ENJOY and maybe go and do something. Today, I had some rating to do for a job and that took up a big chunk of the afternoon. I should have gone to the movies or something, but I didn't.
Just changing the routine from the day-to-day is a pleasure on the weekends. Not having to wake to an alarm, even when I wake up almost as early, sometimes earlier. Not having to hurry to get ready and leave the house for the better part of the day is good, too.
Tomorrow, I have to go to Michael's to pick up Gesso. I know I haven't been posting much art journaling here, but I have been prepping a new journal. I found a journal project I really liked using a composition notebook and I have been working on getting that ready. I had to make the pages thicker - two pages glued together and then something glued on to thicken it up. I used National Geographic pages. Now, gesso (my first venture with gesso) so that I can move forward. I'm very excited about this journal - really different than anything I have done before. I will post pictures.
I'm also going to try this little trick...

Weekend Ahead!
I was actually smart enough or at least had the foresight to take tomorrow off and make a 3-day weekend a 4-day weekend. I have about 800 things I want to do and way more that I NEED to do. I'd love to say that working doesn't enter into the picture at all, but unfortunately, it does. I have a lot of work to do this weekend and that is annoying me right now. I need to make arrangements for a 4-day weekend when I don't have to work. That seems smarter than this one.
Anyway, enough bitching. I have some days off from driving to Vancouver, a change in my routine and some extra spare time I can use to do something fun. That is not a bad thing. I will enjoy it. And do some work, unencumbered by my other work. It will all come out fine in the end.
