Friday! Bliss List!

With special thanks to Liv Lane, I am participating in her Little Bliss List project again this Friday.  I love taking some time to focus on all the good and sweet things in life - I don't always take the time without a nudge.

1. I love color.  It has always been really important to me, even when I was really young.  I have been enjoying the colors of my life and finding ways to bring more color into it.  I'm waiting for my new necklace to arrive - there will be photos!  It is fantastic!

2.  I love this blog - 3X3X365 - it is really special. Every day, something beautiful is created.

3.  This week, I am grateful for Brene Brown.  Her videos have been a touchstone this week. I'm not sure what set me on this path - I've been a fan for a while, have read her blog for a while. Suddenly, though, something deeper resonated and I am now reading her book, "The Gifts of Imperfection".  I haven't gotten far, but I'm reading it.

4.  I was watching the first disc of the last season of "Friends" this week and Phoebe is so funny in these episodes.  I love "Friends". It is one of those timeless shows for me - it doesn't age, the jokes are still funny over time. Love it!

5.  This morning was beautiful and sunny. I had to pull out a pair of sunglasses!  I loved driving to work today in the sun.  It rained later in the day, but what a wonderful start to the day.

Simple joys, yes, but it is the little things in life that make everything so beautiful.

Eclectic Sunday

Looked at some Broadway blogs - not sure why, but that led to more Broadway blogs and a longing to go to NYC and see some shows.

Worked on my art journal - no completed pages, but attempted to jump back into it...I feel like I forgot how to do it. Isn't that silly?

Watched a "Friends" marathon while I was doing other stuff today. Finally, took a nap once I got past the one where Ross and Rachel kiss (I don't know the actual name of the episode).

Watched "Undercover Boss" from tonight - It is almost like watching "Extreme Makeover: Home Improvement" - people are really amazing and their stories are equally moving. So far, of the ones I have seen, the CEOs are good guys. I guess the CEOs who aren't interested in what is happening with their employees and in their business don't go on shows like this...I guess that is the trick, but still, I like it.

Saturday Simplicity

I woke up this morning not knowing what day it was, but hoping, based on the time, that it was Saturday. I got up at 8:45am and just sort of started my day - nothing spectacular, but not just killing time, either.

I watched clips of "Legally Blonde" on YouTube which made me wonder what I used to do before YouTube. I have always purchased the CDs of musicals as they come out - for my own enjoyment more than anything else. Good shows that come out on DVD are so few and far between, so I make it a point to purchase those, too. I find it a shame that the producers, writers, someone doesn't make video recordings available when some of these beloved shows close. It isn't a deterrent to people - people LIKE repetition. I have seen "Rent" at least 30 times. I've seen "Les Miserables" 10+ times and have all the CDs, videos, everything. I have all the "Chess" CDs, have the DVD of the concert, I have listened to the original concept album since it came out. The list goes on. I would purchase the DVDs and STILL attend the live shows, both here and in NYC when I visit.

Anyway, after I worked on the show, I spent a little time on Facebook where I found an "Addicted to Buffy" application that made me want to watch "Buffy", so I went back to where I had briefly paused in Season 7. I love that show. And Season 7 is one of the best. I have been in a "Friends" phase for a month or so - mostly because there is a "Play All" feature on those discs so I can do other things and just have it playing in the background without having to tote the remote around or go looking for it.

While I watched "Buffy", I worked on my art journal #2. I only have a teeny part left in Journal #1 and then I can start writing in them. I don't have them quite where I want them to be, but I am happy with the results I am seeing. I'm hoping to break out of the box soon - but I have a feeling I just have to keep trying...I have to get over the hesitation and thinking. I will...I know I will.

I took some photos of the journal pages in progress, but I think I will save the photos for tomorrow.

The other thing I did was talk to my Cali friends and planned a trip up for a birthday celebration. They are coming in for the show and then will be staying the weekend. Lots of fun, art, chat and oh, did I say fun? I can't wait!!

Hope your Saturday was as good as mine!

A Little Help from My "Friends"

To avoid a repeat of last week, I just turned on a "Friends" DVD. Season 5 disc 3 (I'm working my way through them all).  This has one of my favorite episodes "The One Where Everyone Finds Out" about Chandler and Monica's relationship.  I love the whole, "They don't know we know they know we know," part when everyone is deciding to try to fake each other out.  Funny, and it prevented me from bursting a blood vessel while watching terrible TV.

I did work on my art journal a bit - I'm not entirely satisfied with it and I know the pages aren't done.  In my head, I see one thing but I'm not executing well.  I just have to power through and try different stuff. It is for ME - it doesn't have to be perfect, I just want to be creative. Some pages I will like and some I won't like.  So, a couple of pages that are works in progress:

Favorite "Friends" Episodes

This is a meme of my own...I have been watching some "Friends" episodes in recent months and I decided to find out the names of some of my favorites...Just a little thing to help me remember.

The One Where Ross Finds Out Season Two - I love how he looks when he is watching Rachel and he thinks that no one is looking...

The One with the Prom Video Season Two - ditto comments above. I think David Schwimmer is highly underrated.

The One Where No One's Ready Season Three- all my favorites in one episode - "You were going to drink the fat!", "Hi, I'm Chandler...Could I BE wearing any more clothes?", "That is so not the opposite of taking someone's underwear...", "I'm not going commando in another man's pants."  Brilliant.

The One Where Ross and Rachel Take a Break Season Three - this is just the lead up to the next episode that showcases some fine acting on the part of Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer...plus, there is the whole U.N. Interpreter storyline.

The One the Morning After Season Three - This is one of those episodes that was a turning point for the show and great example of how the whole show was best when they were all just together in the apartment.

The One with Chandler in a Box Season Four

The One with the Embryos Season Four

The One with all the Kissing  Season Five

The One Where Everybody Finds Out Season Five

The One with the Ring Season Six

The One with the Proposal parts I and II Season Six

The Final One Season Ten - What can I say? I'm a sucker for a happy ending.  I thought they ended it as perfectly as any sitcom has ever ended.
